Met this cyclist during the L.A. Fun Ride. I had never seen such a bike, and while other cyclist gathered around to hear him proudly talked about it, he gladly said it was okay for me to take his picture.
Note: my bike is the blue one in the background, above his right shoulder.
I thought he was crazy for riding it on the street for 32 miles, but he swore it was fast, light and easy to maneuver. Okay. I walked away shaking my head.
Then during the last leg, while climbing up Westholme, I heard a strange sound approaching from behind. Sure enough it was this crazy guy. He flew past me without a heavy breath.
Goes to prove, you can’t judge a bike by it’s tires and frame. Clearly this one had the heart of a lion.
