Casey Gerald; We’ve Got More Work To Do

Today I watched Casey Gerald’s speech to the Harvard Business School class of 2014.  His message touched on the commitment one makes to transform their life, their world.  His message was simple; We’ve got more work to do.

His call to action – We’ve got more work to do – was a combination of Dr. King’s “I have a dream” and JFK’s “ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.  It was inspired by a life altering moment that caused him to stop being afraid and to begin living by giving.

Casey challenged his class to become who they could be.  I believe his message was one of hope for 21st century business leaders, empowering them to succeed by empowering their stakeholders.  As a CSR Strategist, I appreciated his underlying message of hope and empowerment.  Apply that to business and brand ambassadors are born.  Turnover is reduced, loyalty is strengthened, and business leaders can save a city and their business.

Casey’s message is simple.  The biggest sign of hope is within us to become a pioneer of unsolved challenges.  It is within us to commit to tomorrow’s frontier and to embrace work that the whole world depends.

Simple.  Don’t just make a living.  Make a life.
