Getting ready for my first brick training day where I’ll incorporate two sports back-to-back; Cycling then running. For me brick days are the hardest part of training/racing, and admittedly in the past my attitude has been a bit salty throughout the run – cursing like a drunken pirate.
As Saturday gets closer I’ve realized a need for an attitude adjustment, a need for focus on the reward not the pain. That’s the plan. To strengthen and discipline the body athletes must do brick training. To strengthen and discipline the mind we also need to focus and visualize the reward – for me that’s the finisher’s medal.
If you’re like me and got to do something difficult – drive the 405 freeway in rush-hour for 3-hours, pay bills, confront someone – to thrive focus on the reward.
